How to blur and follow faces in Premiere Pro
How can you blur a face in a video while also tracking the blurred area of that specific face?
First, go the “Effects” window, search for one of the blur effects like “Gaussian blur” for example. Drag and drop that onto your clip and then go to the “Effect Controls” window and under “Gaussian Blur”, click the pen tool and then go the “Program” window and click around the face to set anchor points around the area you want to blur out.
After you’re done, increase the “Blurriness” as much as you like, and increase the “Mask feather” if you want to smooth out the edge of your mask. Now, if you click the play-button next to “Mask path”, the mask will track your face throughout the clip, frame by frame.
If you want to adjust any of the keyframes afterwards, just use the navigation buttons next to “Mask path” and adjust the area inside the “Program” window.
I hope that was helpful, keep learning and have a great day! 😃
