There are a couple of different ways to export an animation in After Effects. If you go to File and down to Export, you have four different options and I usually use one of the top two options when I’m exporting a final video, but this time we want to create a motion graphic template, or a mogrt-file.

In the next video of this video series you will see why I’m doing it this way and what the benefits are with mogrt-files.

So you have this stunning progressbar that you want to insert into a video in Premiere Pro. The first thing you want to do is to open the “Essential Graphics” window. If it’s not open, go to “Window” and down to “Essential Graphics”.

Here, you choose what composition you want to Export and then you give it a name. Now, you can add properties from your composition that you want to be able to adjust inside Premiere Pro later.

You do this by simply dragging and dropping any of the properties from your composition, into the “Essential Graphics” window.

If you want to know which Properties you can drag in here, just click “Solo Supported Properties” and all the Properties you can drag into the “Essential Graphics” window will be visible.
