We all want to edit faster and have Premiere Pro running smoothly,
so here are 5 things you can do to improve your workflow and increase the speed of your editing process.

How to make Premiere Pro run faster

First, allocate more memory to the software by going up to the menu, clicking Premiere Pro, Preferences, Memory, and next to “RAM reserved for other applications”, click and drag the number to the left to decrease that value as much as possible.

The second thing you can do is to go to the Program window and set the Playback resolution to 1/2 or 1/4.

Number three is to close any window that you’re not using with “cmd + Q” (so not just minimize it).

As a fourth tip, you can also close the Lumetri Scopes window inside Premiere Pro.

And the fifth and final tip is to go to the Program window again and turn on proxy files but in order to use proxy files, you need to first create them, which you can learn in this short tutorial.

Thanks for reading, keep learning, and have a great day! ☀️
