How do you replace a clip in your timeline with another clip and match the duration without having to manually trim it?

How to replace clip and match duration

There is a very simple way of doing this and if you find this tip helpful, consider following me here on Medium for similar short tutorials. ♥️

The way you do this is by going to the Project window, and double clicking on the clip you want to replace your clip with.

Doing this will open the clip in the “Source monitor” so now you can simply right-click on the clip in the timeline that you want to replace and then click “Replace with Clip” and choose “From Source Monitor” and there you go.

(Psst.. For 4K footage in an HD sequence, click the keyboard shortcut for “Set to Frame Size”. For me, that is set to “Alt + S”.)
