How to save effects as layers in Adobe Premiere Pro

There is a handy way to use effects in layers in Adobe Premiere Pro that you maybe didn’t know about.

The common way to use effects is to search for them in the “Effects” window and then drag-and-drop them to the video clip.

But you could also prepare effects in layers.

How to save effects as layers in Adobe Premiere Pro

To do this, go to the “Project” window, go to the bottom and click “New Item” and select “Adjustment Layer”.

Now, you can add one or multiple effects to that layer and then place the layer on top of your video.

You can even adjust this “Adjustment Layer” that you added to your timeline, from your Project window, by double-clicking on it, then going to the “Effect Controls” window, and click the tab “Source” to affect every copy of this layer that you’ve added to the timeline.
