How do you stop Premiere Pro from importing a clip or item into the program if it’s already been imported? 🧐

How to stop importing duplicates in Adobe Premiere Pro

Well, you can change this easily by going up to the menu, clicking Premiere Pro, Preferences, Media.

In there, you can deselect the option “Allow duplicate media during project import” and click “Ok” and if this for some reason doesn’t work or you want to remove duplicates that have already been imported, go up to the menu again, but this time go to “Edit” and then down to “Consolidate duplicates”.

Click that and voilá. Your duplicated files magically disappears.
